Biography

Roxanne is a research scientist dual skilled in complex laboratory and epidemiology research. Roxanne’s research aims to combine these streams to undertake translational research that reduces the burden of major pregnancy complications, including preeclampsia. Roxanne works at the University of Melbourne and Mercy Perinatal and holds an affiliated research position with Uppsala University.

Roxanne obtained her PhD in 2018 (University of Melbourne), which was focused on identifying new medical therapeutics for ectopic pregnancy and investigating the pathophysiology of preeclampsia. Since then, Roxanne has retrained in Epidemiology and co-leads the Perinatal Epidemiology Team within Mercy Perinatal. Roxanne is now working closely with Lina Bergman and Cathy Cluver in the Improved Characterisation of Eclampsia study and PROVE study. Roxanne has also spent time in Sweden working with Anna-Karin Wikström, Susanne Hesselman and Lina on a number of Swedish register-based projects.
