Nicole Wallin

PhD student

Nicole holds a medical degree from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. She has been involved in the GO-PROVE study since her summer internship in 2021 and continued to work part-time with the study. Under the guidance of her supervisor, Lina Bergman, Nicole wrote her master thesis “Prediction of hypertension in women with preeclampsia one year postpartum”. Currently, she is furthering her research on hypertension and cardiometabolic health in women with previous preeclampsia, alongside her role as a doctor at the maternity ward at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. In spring 2024 she will apply to the PhD programme at the Sahlgrenska Academy, with Lina Bergman as primary supervisor.

Nicole’s interest in women’s health began during her work as an assistant nurse at the neonatal intensive care unit at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, where she first encountered women with preeclampsia. Her goal is to continue to research and work in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
