Biography

Isabella is a specialist in radiology since 2005 and neuroradiology since 2010 and is currently working as professor and senior consultant in neuroradiology at the department of Radiology at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg and at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg. When working at Lund University and Skåne University Hospital until 2018 she has mainly worked as a paediatric neuroradiologist and established collaborations with paediatricians and neonatologists with a focus on prematurity.

Isabella defended her thesis on “Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy in brain tumors – clinical applications” in 1999 at Lund University and has since mainly worked within the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MR). Ultra-high field MR, advanced imaging methods and MR safety are key areas of her expertise although her research experience is broad within Radiology covering also computed tomography and tomosynthesis as well as lung donation, cystic fibrosis, neurovascular diseases and dementia. She has been/is supervisor of 9 PhD students, of whom 5 have defended their thesis with Isabella as main supervisor. Within the goPROVE study Isabella’s main interest lies in advanced neuroimaging.
