PhD Data Manager
Biography
I have a special interest in medical research and hope that our findings will not only provide additional knowledge but will contribute to the improvement of health in our low to middle-income communities near Tygerberg Academic Hospital, South-Africa. After investigation of preterm birth, the focus of my PhD, the high prevalence of hypertension/preeclampsia leading to intra-uterine deaths and induced preterm births, became evident. Furthermore, my passion for data has led me to programming, setting up of, and managing databases. I have been managing the SA SPS study data since 2005, the SA BONO study data since 2022 and the SA PREECLAMPSIA study data since 2024. I am grateful to be part of numerous collaborative projects, contributing to impactful research studies and publications that aim to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality.
